Daniel Radcliffe - Interviews Harry Potter 3

Daniel Radcliffe on Harry Potter 3

Daniel has tried to take all of his experiences in his stride, but he can't help thriving off the excitement surrounding the release of this film.

How will you feel at 17/18 if you are still playing Harry as we know him?

I am just going to take it one step at a time. Harry advances so much in each year and becomes more out of his shell. If I am thinking about playing Harry in the fourth book, or the third, I can carry his character forward because I shall be developing too. At the moment, I am just concentrating on one thing at a time.

What have your parents suggested you should do with your life?

Basically, I don't really read any of the articles. But my mum and Dad just told me to enjoy it and I think that's the best thing because there are a lot worse things can happen than being recognised.

How do you manage to juggle school time with all of this?

Well, we always have a teacher on the set and we are taught in between the filming. We have filming and teaching together.

There's a scene in the movie when you are on the train, you find a large amount of money and use it to buy lots of chocolate. In your own life, have you bought yourself a reward?

I got myself a CD.

What did you enjoy the most about making the movie?

One of the best parts was working with the director, Chris Columbus, because he is a total inspiration and he really enjoys what he does. It's a real honour working with him. The most nerve-wracking part was the first day because before it had just been me and Chris in rehearsing in Chris' office. I got the call sheet for the first day and I looked under cast, which read Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson...but when I turned over the page, it read: "Extras, 150". Just at that moment, I kind of got quite scared.

Was it difficult keeping secrets from your friends and family?

I was pretty good at keeping secrets. But I always felt an urge to say loads of stuff to people, but I restrained myself.

Harry Potter has been quoted as being the biggest and best hero since OO7. How does that make you feel Daniel?

Wow! It makes me feel very privileged to be playing him. It's really exciting playing him because he has got such an interesting life. Cool!

Do you worry that you might always be seen as Harry Potter?

Although Harry is just a normal person, he has a really interesting character. So, I feel very luck to play him because he has so many aspects to his personality.

Do you have a favourite trick, which you would like to use in real life?

When I get into trouble at school, I'd like to use the invisibility cloak to sneak out of the classroom. Or I would like to have the three headed dog because then nobody would argue with me and nobody would try to fight me.
